Few special editions of the BMW E30 M3 combine motorsport heritage and exclusivity as convincingly as the Cecotto Edition. Named after BMW works driver and touring car world champion Johnny Cecotto, this model was introduced in the late 1980s as a particularly refined and powerful version of the E30 M3. The edition celebrated Cecotto’s success in international motorsport while also representing a further technical evolution of the M3.

Compared to the standard E30 M3, the Cecotto Edition featured several improvements. The legendary S14 four-cylinder engine produced 215 hp in this version and benefited from an optimized engine management system. In addition, the model was equipped with a notably more comprehensive level of equipment, successfully combining motorsport engineering with a higher level of comfort. Produced in relatively small numbers, the Cecotto Edition is today regarded as one of the most desirable special versions of the E30 M3.

The company is widely recognized as one of the leading specialists for BMW E30 models and especially the M3. With the highest standards of quality, originality, and attention to detail, the vehicle was completely dismantled and meticulously rebuilt.

During the restoration, the engine, drivetrain, suspension, electrical systems, and all technical components were thoroughly inspected, overhauled, or renewed where necessary. The bodywork, paintwork, and interior were also carefully restored with great attention paid to authenticity and correct specification. The result is a vehicle that today presents itself in exceptional condition, both visually and mechanically.

The restoration is extensively documented. A photographic PDF comprising more than 100 pages records the entire process step by step and provides a detailed insight into the scope and quality of the work carried out.

In addition, the original first German registration document is still present. It shows that the car was originally registered in Ludwigsburg, confirming its traceable German history. Today, this exceptional example forms part of a private collection owned by a collector based in Berlin.
