Luxury sedan icon in annual car condition with few kilometers!
Description
The W140 was launched at a time when it was controversial and polarizing. Two extendable dipsticks in the rear were supposed to make parking easier. For Mercedes a new technical achievement, for critics the proof that the car was too big. In fact, at 2.16 m, this S-Class model series was too wide for the car train to Sylt at the time. On the other hand, it offered a miracle of space inside for all occupants. This W140 has probably never seen the Sylt car train, as it was registered in Japan from 1995 and only changed to a German owner in 2016. In Japan, the vehicle has been moved very rarely. In the years 1998 to 2015, sometimes less than 1000 km have been driven per year.
The original Japanese receipts and a translated table for this are attached to the documents. The S - Class is in an above average and extremely well maintained overall condition. The entire vehicle outer skin as well as the structure-giving components such as side members, cross members, sills etc. show no traces of any corrosion or previously executed repairs. The entire body is therefore convincing by repair-free originality. Considering the fact that this Mercedes was designed for right-hand traffic, this supports the thesis that the S 500 was purchased and exported to Japan for presentation purposes only. All necessary modifications for German road traffic have of course been carried out in full.
Conclusion
This W140 still offers an outstanding quality experience and driving feel. Well maintained inside and out, it still stands for absolute top class. The limousine style icon from the nineties in a well-kept Jahreswagen condition. The S-Class of the Kohl era.
