Description

This beautiful and by now rather rare Rover P6 was purchased by Gian Emilio Vallerani as a new vehicle on May 8th, 1971 at the British-Leyland office in Milan. Mr Vallerani was born on June 23rd, 1908 and was at the time of this purchase already approaching his 63rd birthday. He worked as a lorry driver and, like so many of his generation, treated his possessions with great loving care. As he was regularly busy on weekdays, he drove the limousine mainly on weekends and thus, when selling the vehicle in July 1991, it could boast a mileage of merely about 20,000 km. The second and last owner, Mr Nazzareno, was born in 1961, lives in Gallante (south-west of Milan) and held on to the Rover until 2019, when he sold it to us.

Conclusion

Aside from a new paint job in 2010, the vehicle stands in mint condition. The interior as well as all switches and armature mountings function faultlessly and appear unused. The engine featuring dual carburettors, the wheel disc brakes at both axles as well as a proven and tested chassis all contribute to the Rover handling more relaxed on bad roads than comparable contemporary models by Volvo or Alfa Romeo.
